Improving Health and Wellness

Resource Center is dedicated to helping you stay healthy. Through our health and wellness programs the Center provides culturally sensitive, LGBTQ-friendly services including low-cost mental health counseling, vaccinations, lab work, transgender health and HIV services. The LGBTQ community has been profoundly affected by HIV. As part of a comprehensive approach to treatment, education and prevention of HIV, the Center provides dental care, nutrition programming, health insurance premium assistance and support groups designed to empower community members living with HIV/AIDS. The Center also offers comprehensive Prevention Programs which provide HIV testing and STI testing and treatment, counseling and outreach to at-risk communities.

Sexual Health & Prevention

Resource Center’s health and wellness programs play a key role in preventing disease, improving health, and enhancing quality of life in the LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS communities.

PrEP Care Program

Talk to your partners and friends about PrEP. Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is an HIV prevention option that works by taking one pill every day. When taken daily it can greatly reduce your risk of getting HIV. You can protect yourself even more if you use condoms and other prevention tools.

LGBTQ Primary Medical Care

To meet the needs of the LGBTQ community, Resource Center has added primary medical care to its well-established services of medical support and gender-affirming care.

HIV/AIDS Services

The Center’s Harold Simmons Foundation Health Campus provides critical assistance to people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. The health campus provides nutritious meals and food products distributed through a weekday hot meals program and food pantry. Case management works with clients to navigate the care and support systems available in North Texas.

Gender-Affirming Health Services

Everyone should be able to see a doctor without fear of judgment or discrimination. Resource Center provides accepting and affirmative care for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) population in North Texas. The primary care clinic is headed up by Dr. Gene Voskuhl in a familiar and stigma-free environment.

Behavioral Health Services

Leading the way, Resource Center’s Behavioral Health services bridge our communities by providing compassionate, cost-effective and quality mental health care and services to all people.
