Help Build Housing for LGBTQIA+ Seniors
Did you know that nearly one in three LGBTQIA+ people over 65 live in poverty? It’s true. That’s why Resource Center is raising money to build an affordable senior housing facility in Oak Lawn.
Called Oak Lawn Place, this two-acre site features mature trees and a small creek. Soon, we’ll break ground on a building with 84 units designed to help seniors—ages 50 and up—find safe and affordable housing. Plus, we’ve included common spaces to anchor the community and provide places for on-site social and educational activities.
Our vision is to provide seniors with affirming opportunities for socialization, recreation, and emotional support. We want to transform the way LGBTQIA+ older adults live, access services, and develop community support for generations to come.
