Opening July 2019!
To meet the needs of the LGBTQ community, Resource Center has added to its well-established services of medical support and transgender care, and now provides primary medical care. The medical services are “a community health center for the LGBTQ community and allies in North Texas,” according to Dr. Gene Voskuhl who heads up the clinic.
Primary care services include treatment for chronic conditions, HIV treatment, PrEP access, STI treatement, general care, hypertension, weight loss, diabetes, flu shots and vaccinations and smoking cessation.
Major insurance and self-pay accepted.

Provider info: Dr. Gene Voskuhl graduated from the University of Oklahoma, where he specialized in infectious diseases and eventually helped launch the University’s HIV Clinic. He later worked at Gilead (the manufacturer of PrEP medication Truvada) as a medical scientist, instructing fellow physicians on how to safely treat LGBTQ patients and prescribe appropriate pharmaceuticals. Volunteering for the Center gave him an even deeper insight into the needs of the LGBTQ and HIV populations in North Texas, and further fanned the flames of his passion towards equity in healthcare. “Providing primary care at Resource Center will help us close the gap between a diagnosis and immediate treatment. Until now, if a patient was diagnosed with HIV or an STI at Nelson-Tebedo, our current testing facility, we referred that patient to another physician for treatment. Now, we can get that patient on a treatment plan within 24 hours and on the pathway to immediate care in a familiar and welcoming environment, free of stigma,” says Dr. Voskuhl.
