Resource Center operates one of the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex and asexual/ally (LGBTQIA+) community centers in the United States. From our health and prevention services to our advocacy and community programs, we serve the LGBTQIA+ community and all people affected by HIV through improving health and wellness, strengthening families and communities and providing transformative education and advocacy.

Health & Wellness

The Center is dedicated to helping you stay healthy. Through our health and wellness services, the Center provides culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+-friendly services including low-cost mental health counseling, vaccinations, lab work, gender-affirming and HIV services.

Sexual Health & Prevention

The Center’s health and wellness programs play a key role in preventing disease, improving health, and enhancing quality of life in the LGBTQIA+ and HIV/AIDS communities. We provide both free HIV testing and low cost STI testing and treatments as well as HIV education and outreach. We even offer at-home HIV testing kits!

PrEP Care Program

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is an HIV prevention strategy that includes taking one pill each day. When taken daily, it is more than 99% effective at preventing HIV infection. Resource Center provides PrEP services at low to no cost to our patients.

LGBTQIA+ Primary Medical Care

To meet the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community, the Center provides primary medical care in addition to its well-established services of medical support and gender-affirming care.

HIV/AIDS Services

From nutrition programs through our food pantry to oral health assistance, the Center provides comprehensive services for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS at the Harold Simmons Foundation Health Campus.

Gender-Affirming Health Services

Everyone should be able to see a doctor without fear of judgment or discrimination. The Center provides affordable and affirmative care services for transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse individuals including Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and STI testing and treatment.

Mental Health Services

Resource Center’s Mental Health services bridge our communities by providing compassionate, cost-effective and quality mental health care and services to all people. We also offer substance abuse counseling and a variety of support groups.

Family & Community Services

Resource Center’s community and family services include activities for LGBTQIA+ seniors, youth and families. The Center is home to a variety of organizations and serves over 62,000 people each year.

Youth and Families

Youth First serves LGBTQIA+ and allied youth, ages 12-18 and equips them with the tools and resources they need to live an authentic life through year-round, free programming that decreases high-risk behaviors, reduces social isolation, and increases self-esteem.

United Black Ellument (UBE)

UBE is an HIV prevention program that empowers young Black same-gender-loving men ages 18-35 to achieve their greatest potential for good. UBE provides alternative social events and opportunities to promote diversity, well-being, and strength as individuals and as a community.

GenderBrave

GenderBrave enables transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse young adults ages 18-35 to socialize and support one another in a safe space. Members raise awareness of HIV in the North Texas community and connect participants with appropriate and needed resources for their health and well-being.

Grupo Orgullo Hispano (GOH)

GOH brings together Latinx men in social programs. The focus ranges from providing fun and educational activities, where participants have a place to express their ideas and feelings, to raising awareness about health risks and access to care.

FUSE

FUSE is an HIV prevention program for young gay, bisexual, queer and questioning men of all races and ethnicities, ages 18-35. FUSE hosts monthly meetings to discuss dating, hooking up and staying safe. FUSE also provides outreach and condoms to local bars, and offers free and private in-house HIV/STI testing.

Senior Programs

To meet the growing demand for care and services for the aging LGBTQIA+ population, The Center has launched a capital campaign for the construction of an LGBTQIA+ friendly affordable senior housing facility. Through providing seniors with affirming opportunities for socialization, recreation, and emotional support, the Center’s vision is to transform the way LGBTQIA+ older adults live, access services, and develop community support for generations to come.

Education & Advocacy

When it comes to advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community as well as all people impacted by HIV/AIDS, it’s an important part of Resource Center’s past, present and future.

Take Action!

Take Action! is about inspiring our community to get involved and make a difference! We’ve spoken and marched in demonstrations and encouraged people to write letters, send e-mails and make phone calls to their elected representatives.

Education & Training

Resource Center offers cultural competency training to introduce participants to LGBTQIA+ terms, proper use of pronouns, the coming out process, phobias and “-isms” and provides workplaces calls to action to support and affirm LGBTQIA+ colleagues or clients.

OUT For Safe Schools

Out for Safe Schools (OFSS) is a comprehensive anti-bullying training program designed to equip teachers, administrators and school staff to be visible LGBTQIA+ allies.

Help Us Change Lives

Resource Center provides health, community, and advocacy programs for LGBTQIA+ individuals and critical assistance to people affected by HIV/AIDS. With your help, we work to improve the lives of more than 62,000 people every year.

$25 Donation

A $25 gift to the Center covers the costs of testing needed for an individual to receive HIV preventative medication.

$50 Donation

A gift of $50 provides up to 8 hot meals for a low-income individual living with HIV/AIDS.

$100 Donation

A gift of $100 covers the cost of the labs needed for a transgender or gender non-conforming person to access gender-affirming care.

$500 Donation

A gift of $500 provides participants of the Center’s Youth First program with art supplies to help express their authentic selves.
