Support Groups

Resource Center’s Behavioral Health Program facilitates and hosts a variety of FREE Support Groups from LGBTQIA+ community interest groups.

Support Groups provide a safe and nurturing environment among like-minded peers for individuals to give and receive emotional support and empowerment to talk through life events, mental health related issues, explore feelings and better understand themselves and others.

All support groups are currently virtual until further notice.

Focus: A grief and loss support group for LGBTQIA+ persons who have experienced the death of a partner or spouse.

FacilitatorPeer Support

Dates & Times: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 6:45-8 p.m.

Focus: A support group for LGBTQIA+ adults ages 50+ to socialize and interact while exploring issues such as combating isolation, grief, and loss, coming out, aging gracefully, retirement, and other societal aging issues.

Dates & Times: Mondays, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m.

Focus: A welcoming and safe place to find support and understanding for straight spouses dealing with the difficult and confusing issues they can experience after discovering their spouse or partner is gay. Sharing and listening to personal stories, exploring effects of having lived with a closeted spouse, concerns about children, or discussions about making personal rules for couples who decide to stay together.

Facilitator: Straight Spouse Network Peer Support

Dates & Times: 2nd Friday, 6:30-8 p.m.

Focus: Gender-affirming support for transgender and gender non-conforming adults ages 18 and over. Allowing individuals to explore issues without fear of not being understood or encountering prejudice about gender identity.

Focus: Crystal Meth Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, so they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from addiction to crystal myth. The only requirement for members is
the desire to stop using.

Focus: Gender Identity Support Group for transgender and gender diverse youth ages 12-18 and STAY (Suicide Prevention Support Group) is for LGBTQIA+ and allied youth ages 12-18 to break the stigma on talking about mental health and empower youth to express feelings and start meaningful conversations
